There are few things better than a warm chocolate chip cookie. The magic that a few ingredients create is something that I really do believe could aid in creating world peace. Growing up my mom made this recipe and it is one I have come back to time and time again. The only change I have made is I put flake salt in mine and it elevates the flavor tremendously. Funny story: My dad said when I was younger that my mom’s chocolate chip cookies help seal the deal in him falling in love. So I deemed these “man getting cookies” so for years I would make them for any boy I thought was cute in hopes that maybe just maybe they’d fall in love and we’d live happily ever after. The funniest part about this story is it never worked and in fact, Andrew, my husband actually made me banana bread and that was what kicked off our relationship. But I thought y’all might need some “man getting cookies” before Valentine’s day! Also a quick note, these are so easy and delicious that you will probably never buy store bought cookies again so I want you to be prepared for that type of life commitment. I typically get a little over 2 1/2 dozen from this recipe so I make about 1 1/2 to 2 dozen and then I freeze the rest of the dough in a rubbermaid container. They taste amazing after being frozen too! I hope you love them and let us know when you make them 🙂
